Batumi is a port city on the Black Sea. As the capital of the region of Adjara in southwestern Georgia, it is the second largest city in the country. Batumi is the seat of a diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church as well as a science location with colleges, university, naval faculty and agricultural institute.
Batumi ist eine Hafenstadt am Schwarzen Meer. Als Hauptstadt der Region Adscharien im südwestlichen Georgien ist sie zweitgrößte Stadt des Landes. Batumi ist Sitz eines Bistums der Georgischen Orthodoxen Kirche sowie ein Wissenschaftsstandort mit Hochschulen, Universität, Marinefakultät und landwirtschaftlichem Institut.
